AboutUs.............................
The LSU Tiger Band, better known as "The Golden Band from Tiger Land," has wowed audiences everywhere for several years with its spectacular performances. The band, consisting of three major units, the Instrumentalists, the Color Guard and the Golden Girls, never ceases to amaze LSU fans with its powerful music, dazzling visuals, and glittering dancers.
Through the direction of its exceptional Directors and Graduate Assistants, Tiger Band puts together a new show nearly each home game. Not only does Tiger Band meet for an entire week straight before the fall semester begins, but also every Tuesday through Friday for an hour and a half-long rehearsal. On home game days, the members devote their entire Saturday to Tiger Band, starting with the afternoon rehearsal in the Indoor Football Facility. It is open to the public and continues to draw larger crowds each season. There, fans get a preview of the halftime show and a close-up of one of the most highly acclaimed college pre-game performances in the nation. After a eating a quick lunch and dressing in uniform, the Tiger Band storms the road for the parade to Tiger Stadium, sending chills up and down fans' spines as they play Pregame.
In the stands, the band keeps the team motivated with the First Down Cheer, the Second Down Cheer, The Eye of the Tiger, and the infamous Tiger Bandits, along with its other stands tunes favorites such as Hey Baby, Vehicle, and Boogie Down. The practices in the searing heat and the performances in the wool uniforms are very exhausting for the Tiger Band members, but most of them will agree that nothing can compare to hearing a sold-out crowd screaming with excitement as the they march out onto the field to perform Pregame in Tiger Stadium.
